What started as a basic section on looting in between the Fox News coworkers Geraldo Rivera and Dan Bongino on Wednesday night rapidly escalated into a shouting match before the host Sean Hannity managed to cut to commercial.Rivera, a contributor-at-large with a tenure approaching 20 years at the network, lost his mood when the podcaster, Fox News contributor, and regular “Hannity” visitor Bongino told him to “take a Valium” and “stop pretending to be a cop.”

“There’s a huge distinction between reporting on a baseball video game and playing it, Geraldo. You never ever wore a badge, period,” Bongino stated after Rivera discussed Black Americans being three times as likely as whites to be eliminated in an encounter with the police.
“Not interested in your reporting on it, due to the fact that press reporters deal with truths, and you brought the race card into it the other night when we had this debate, despite having no truths to back that up, and when I brought up the realities that there is no systemic bigotry–” Bongino continued prior to Rivera cut him off.
“I understand more than you. What do you understand?” Rivera stated after Hannity tried to simmer the panelists down. “What ‘d you have, a 10-minute profession as a police officer? You’ve been running for office for the past 20 years!”

Bongino– who served in the New york city City Cops Department from 1995 to 1999 and ran for Congress in 2012, 2014, and 2016– continued to lament Rivera’s cutting him off and “promoting a race story” on police cruelty.
“If there was a pester of policeman searching Black men down in the evening, then I do not comprehend– how is that happening?” Bongino said as Rivera grew significantly irritated. “Where is this enormous body count?”
As the commercial music began jingling and crosstalk heightened, Bongino told Rivera “you just wish to see the country burn.”
At that point, Rivera let loose with an expletive on the primetime program.
“I want to see the country burn?” Rivera yelled. “You son of a bitch! I wish to see the nation burn? You punk! You’re nothing but a punk. You’re a punk, Bongino. You’re a punk.”
“You wouldn’t inform me that to my face,” Bongino replied.
“Oh yeah?” Rivera stated as Hannity cut to industrial. “Let’s see.”
Hannity did not resolve the exchange after he returned from business break, cutting right to his interview with Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana.
